London & Chicago (July 19, 2010) In what would be a historic move for the marketing profession, the American Marketing Association, the largest marketing association in North America and Global Marketing Network, the worldwide membership association for marketing and business professionals, are in advanced discussions to develop a range of measures designed to create new global standards for the marketing profession.
Under plans being drawn up such an alliance will provide the marketing profession with the most comprehensive and widespread support for the marketing community across the world. Such measures include AMA and GMN developing jointly branded membership offerings, co-developing new globally accredited certification programmes and AMA being appointed as a GMN Professional Development Centre and exclusive distributor for GMNs Global Marketer Programme in North America.
In a joint statement issued by AMA Chief Executive Dennis Dunlap and GMN Chief Executive Darrell Kofkin. This exciting relationship between AMA and GMN is designed to build on the competences of both organisations and provide marketing professionals around the world with the high level of continuing professional development they require in order to achieve dynamic growth outcomes for their companies, organisations, and clients in this every changing and highly complex marketing environment. Such developments will support marketings rightful place in the Boardrooms of the world. Our teams are currently working closely together on a range of measures which we aim to formally launch in North America and around the world from Autumn 2010.
