Dr.Mohan Lal Agrawal, Ph.D., is Professor of marketing at Institute of Management Technology, Dubai and is an award-winning marketing professor, trainer and consultant who has worked and taught around the world and authored numerous publications.

Dr.Agrawal has taught at such leading business schools as University of Massachusetts, Boston, California Polytechnic State University, University of Delaware, Boston’s Bentley College, University of Manitoba, Canada, Tec De Monterrey Institute of Management in Mexico, ESSEC Business School in France, Southern Denmark University in Denmark, University of Queensland and Bond University in Australia and Universitas 21 Global in Singapore and Yunt3ch University in Taiwan. He has lectured and participated in seminars at business schools through the United States, Europe and Asia.

Dr.Agrawal has designed, developed and trained young and experienced faculty on several well known universities and business schools. They include Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, Institute of Management Technology, New Delhi, Indian Institute of Coal Management; Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai; Center for Management Development, Hyderabad, Jaypee University of Information Technology, New Delhi; Assam Institute of Management, Guwahati; Center for Management, Dibrugarh University; and Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning in Management, Kolkata.

Dr.Agrawal was for a long time a professor of marketing at XLRI Jamshedpur; and founding director of the Center for Services Management at XLRI Jamshedpur in India and the Escotel Chair professor and founding director at the Center for Customer Relationship Management at Indian Institute of Management (IIM Lucknow). Both IIM Lucknow and XLRI Jamshedpur are among the leading business schools in India, where Agrawal has also served as a founding Director of the Jaypee Business School and dean of Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning in Management Kolkata.

He has taught as a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, Indian Institute of Management Indore; Administrative Staff College of India Hyderabad; Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar; Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi; SP Jain Institute of Management Mumbai; Singapore and Dubai, IMT Ghaziabad; and BIM, Trichy, among many others.

His honors include nomination to the Dean’s awards of outstanding teaching at the university of Manitoba, Canada; 2006 Vice Chancellor special recognition at the Bond University and 2005 Master Teaching Award sponsored by Hormel Foods and coordinated by the Marketing Management Association; receiving the California Faculty Association’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2004 at California Polytechnic State University; receiving the Most Outstanding Marketing Teaching Award at Cal Poly’s College of Business in 2003 and receiving the Ishan National Teaching Award, in New Delhi, India, in 2001. He has received many prestigious fellowships and grants including the Fulbright Fellowship in the United States, British Commonwealth in the UK twice and Euro-India Cooperation and Exchange Program Fellowship to France.

Dr.Agrawal’s teaching vision is to be a globally respected learning facilitator through his CARE for learning facilitation. CARE stands for:

  • Creativity in encouraging newer ways to learn and sharing the joy of learning and connect it with the practical world of business
  • Advance Preparation by planning learning inputs such that each co-learner can leverage them to the greatest degree

Dr.Agrawal’s multinational clients include GM Auto Financial Services, Chennai (India), the Indian subsidiary of General Motors; North East Delta Dental Insurance in the United States; Cambrian Credit Union Winnipeg in Canada; ETA Ascon Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing; National Development Bank and Hatton National Bank in Sri Lanka; Hilton Hotels in Nepal; Bata Shoes, MICO Bangalore, the Indian subsidiary of Germany’s Bosch; Deutsche Bank of Germany; CRISP and GTZ India, an Indo-German joint technical project in Bhopal , ABB India, SmithKlineBeecham India and the Indian subsidiary of Bush Boake Allen, in the United Kingdom.

His research and publication consists of more than 60 articles and research papers published widely in India, Australia, France, UK, Denmark, USA and Canada on service marketing, buyer behavior and customer relationship management. These include peer reviewed submissions to such national international conferences as Association of Consumer Research, AMA Educators conference, Frontiers in Services Conference, European Marketing Congress, and Australasian Service Marketing Conference. The referred international journals include the Journal of Service Research, Management and Labour Studies, South Asian Journal of Management, Asian Journal of Management Cases, Indian Management. A number of leading business led by the Kellogg’s Business School at the Northwestern University, Chicago, (USA) and Centre for Service Leadership in ASU, Arizona, and (USA) invited him to share research his research output. He has several cross-cultural research projects in collaboration with peers in India, Australia, Europe, and US, Canada and Mexico. Several of his papers have been reprinted in the journals, edited books and as special contribution to international books.

Dr.Agrawal is on the editorial board of South Asian Case Journal, Management and Change, Management and Labour Studies and Journal of Services Research. He has reviewed papers for European Conference, Frontiers of Service Research, International Journal of Internet marketing and advertising, Journal of Relationship Marketing, and European Marketing Conference.

He has a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland; a diploma and fellowship in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in London; a Ph.D. from Kurukshetra University in India; and a master’s degree in commerce and management from Allahabad University in India, where he also won gold medal for academic excellence.
